About the Event: Arduino Imagino is an embedded systems and hardware prototyping challenge focused on sensor interfacing, real-time processing, embedded programming, and hardware-software integration. Participants will receive a problem statement 3–4 weeks before the event, giving them sufficient time to understand the problem, plan their approach, and prepare their implementation. Objective: To encourage practical application of embedded-system concepts. To develop solutions for real-world student-related problems. To test sensor interfacing and microcontroller programming skills. To encourage efficient real-time data processing and decision-making. To promote creativity and hardware-software co-design. To develop participants' ability to plan and implement a solution within a defined problem statement. Problem Statement: A specific student-oriented real-world problem will be provided to participants 3–4 weeks prior to the event. Teams must design and develop an Arduino-based solution to address the given problem. The solution should demonstrate effective use of sensors, embedded programming, real-time decision-making, and suitable output/feedback mechanisms such as LEDs, buzzers, displays, or vibration motors. Participants may use the provided Arduino platform and permitted sensors/components. Simulation software may also be permitted as an alternative to physical hardware, subject to the resources and guidelines specified by the organisers. Event Structure: Stage 1 – Ideation & Problem Validation: Teams identify a real-world problem and define their proposed solution, target users, and value proposition. Stage 2 – Prototype / MVP Development: Teams develop a functional MVP during the 20–25 day event. Any suitable technology stack may be used. Pre-built projects are not permitted. Stage 3 – Final Presentation & Evaluation: Teams demonstrate their working prototype and present their technical architecture, implementation, and solution. The final presentation consists of a 10-minute pitch followed by 5 minutes of Q&A with the judging panel. Rules and Regulations: Teams may consist of 1–4 members. Participants must carry a valid student ID. The problem statement will be released 1–2 weeks before the event. The final implementation must be based on the given problem statement. The solution must be original and developed by the participating team. Participants may use only the components and sensors permitted by the organisers. All physical hardware must be low-voltage and electrically safe. Simulation software may be used if permitted by the organisers. Participants must demonstrate real-time functionality of their solution. Any form of plagiarism or copied implementation may result in disqualification. Misbehaviour may result in disqualification. The coordinators' decision will be final. Judging Criteria: Problem Understanding & Relevance – 20% Functionality & Accuracy – 30% Real-Time Response – 20% Embedded Design & Technical Implementation – 15% Innovation & User Experience – 10% Presentation & Demonstration – 5% Judge's Decision is Final: The judges' decision will be final and will be based on the specified judging criteria, technical correctness, and overall performance. Eligibility: Open to students from recognised colleges/universities. Participation is allowed in teams of 1–4 members. Valid student ID is mandatory.
