About the OpportunityComplete regsitration at techfest.org/competitions/roboreach Roboreach by Techfest, IIT Bombay is an intense wireless robotics challenge that tests mechanical chassis durability, wireless control, and maneuverability. Teams must build a manually controlled wireless robot engineered to conquer a complex 3x3m obstacle arena packed with loose sand, speed bumps, zig-zag barriers, sawteeth, narrow unguarded tracks, and steep inclines. Whether driving via custom Bluetooth/Wi-Fi controllers or smartphone apps, operators must demonstrate precision driving and rapid terrain navigation under strict time constraints. Proven performers at the Zonals earn a direct ticket to compete on the big stage at Techfest, IIT Bombay! Round-Wise Structure Round 1: Regional Zonals (Offline at Zonal Centers) Format: On-site qualifying round across designated zonal cities. Task: Each team gets a single 6-minute timed run to pilot their bot through a 12-obstacle terrain arena. Evaluation: Points scored based on successfully cleared obstacles, speed bonuses for finishing under 4 minutes, and deductions for off-track penalties or technical pauses. Outcome: Top 5 scoring teams per zonal center earn direct entry to the Grand Finale at IIT Bombay. Round 2: Grand Finale (IIT Bombay Campus) Format: On-site finals at the IIT Bombay campus during Techfest. Task: Finalists compete on an expanded arena featuring undisclosed, dynamic surprise obstacles designed to test control precision and structural integrity. Key Bot Specifications & Rules Control: Wireless control only (Bluetooth / 2.4GHz Wi-Fi) operated by a single driver. The network SSID must follow the format: TeamName_TF. Power: Onboard power supply only (Maximum 24V DC) with an accessible physical power disconnect switch. Constraints: Readymade Lego components, damaging spikes, or residue adhesives on wheels/chassis are strictly prohibited. Team Size: Maximum 4 members per team. Prizes & Eligibility (Applicable for Both) Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma students with a valid college ID card. Cross-college teams are allowed. Prizes: Cash prizes + Certificates of Excellence for top performers; Certificates of Participation from Techfest, IIT Bombay for all zonal participants.
