About The Event: Design and build a Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system using inductive or resonant coupling, capable of powering a standard 5 W load provided by the organizers. Number of rounds: 1. Round 1: Prelims: Teams qualifying from Round 1 will proceed to the practical challenge. Each team will demonstrate its self-built WPT system using the organizer-provided standard 5 W load. The system will be tested under controlled conditions for: Output Power. Transfer Efficiency. Transfer Distance. System Stability. Safety and Build Quality. The transmitter and receiver will initially be aligned and tested at a specified reference distance. The distance between the Tx and Rx coils will then be increased to determine the maximum usable transfer distance at which the system can still deliver the required output. Scoring And Judging Criteria: Efficiency: Ratio of output power to input power. Transfer Distance: Maximum usable distance achieved. Fixed Distance Power Delivery: Ability to drive the 5 W load reliably at a specified test distance. Build & Safety: Circuit stability, build quality, and adherence to safety. Technical Viva: Ability to explain design choices, resonance, tuning, and coupling coefficient. Reporting time will be communicated to registered teams; late reporting may lead to walkover. The decision of the judges and organisers will be final and binding in all matters. Any form of misconduct, plagiarism or use of unfair means leads to immediate disqualification. Participants are responsible for their own equipment and personal belongings. Organisers reserve the right to modify any rule at any time; updates are announced at the venue. Individual event; components and breadboards provided. Datasheets are available on request. Burning components is allowed twice per round - the third smoke ends your battle. Eligibility: Open to students of all institutes and all degree programmes (unless specified otherwise in the event rules above). Participants must be registered for techFEST'26 through the official portal. Cross-college teams are welcome.
