₹10 Startup is an entrepreneurial competition that challenges participants to design a real, scalable, and sustainable business built around a core product or service priced at just ₹1, ₹5, or ₹10. The objective is not simply to create something inexpensive, but to develop a smart business model that makes affordability compatible with profitability. Teams must demonstrate how their venture can deliver genuine value to customers at an exceptionally low price while generating revenue and achieving long-term growth. Participants are expected to think like entrepreneurs by identifying market needs, understanding consumer behaviour, minimising costs, and developing innovative revenue models that can sustain the business as it scales. The central challenge is to prove that a low-priced offering can become a profitable business through smart execution, repeat purchases, and a well-designed revenue strategy. The Challenge Teams must conceptualise a business whose core product or service is sold at ₹1, ₹5, or ₹10. Their business idea must demonstrate how the chosen price can be maintained while building a financially viable venture. Teams must address four fundamental aspects: Product/Service Identify a real customer need and propose a product or service that customers would be willing to purchase at the specified price. Pricing and Cost Structure Explain how the product or service can be offered at ₹1, ₹5, or ₹10. Consider production costs, delivery expenses, operational costs, and other relevant factors. Revenue Model Demonstrate how the business will generate revenue and become profitable. Possible approaches include repeat purchases, advertising, subscriptions, bundles, commissions, partnerships, or premium add-ons. Scalability and Profitability Explain how the venture can attract customers, increase sales, expand its reach, and maintain profitability as the business grows. The strongest ideas will demonstrate a clear understanding of unit economics, customer demand, and the relationship between affordability and sustainable growth. Submission Guidelines The competition will consist of a single round of online PPT submission. Participants must register for the competition through Unstop. The WhatsApp group link will be provided on Unstop for communication, updates, and further instructions. Teams must submit their PowerPoint presentation (PPT) through the designated Google Drive submission link(which will be provided in the WhatsApp group) before the deadline. The PPT must clearly explain the business concept, target customers, pricing strategy, revenue model, unit economics, and scalability. The presentation must demonstrate how the product or service can be sold at ₹1, ₹5, or ₹10 while supporting a financially sustainable business model. Teams should include realistic cost estimates, revenue assumptions, and an explanation of how the venture can achieve profitability at scale. All submissions must be original and developed by the participating teams. AI-generated PPT content and plagiarism are strictly prohibited. Teams must independently develop their business concepts, financial assumptions, written content, and presentations. Copying existing business plans or submitting another team’s work may result in disqualification. Financial estimates must be reasonable and supported by assumptions wherever possible. No live pitching or video submission will be required. Winners will be determined based on the submitted PPTs. PPT Structure Teams should organise their presentation around the following sections: Slide 1 — Problem and Market Opportunity What problem does the business solve? Who are the target customers? Why would customers buy the offering? Slide 2 — The ₹1/₹5/₹10 Offering Product or service description Key features and value proposition Selected selling price: ₹1, ₹5, or ₹10 Slide 3 — Business and Revenue Model How the business will operate Revenue streams Customer acquisition and retention strategy Slide 4 — Unit Economics and Profitability Estimated cost per unit Selling price and revenue per unit Contribution margin or profit calculation How the business can remain financially viable Slide 5 — Scalability and Growth How the business can expand Potential partnerships and distribution channels Long-term growth and profitability strategy Evaluation Criteria Submissions will be evaluated on the following parameters: Problem Understanding and Market Relevance — 20% Innovation and Value Proposition — 20% Revenue Model and Business Strategy — 20% Unit Economics and Financial Viability — 25% Feasibility and Scalability — 15% Total: 100% Judges will assess whether the venture solves a genuine problem, whether the low price is commercially realistic, and whether the proposed business can generate sustainable returns as it grows.
