Overview What if the brief you receive is not the real problem? What if the market changes halfway through your strategy? What if your budget gets cut, your competitor strikes back, or your consumer insight turns out to be wrong? Welcome to BriefX — a marketing challenge designed to test not just what you know about marketing, but how you think when the situation changes. Presented by MarkHub24, BriefX brings together teams of two to compete through multiple stages of marketing knowledge, strategic thinking, creativity, adaptability, and communication. The Challenge BriefX begins with an online marketing quiz. From all participating teams, the Top 15 teams will advance to the Grand Finale. But qualifying is only the beginning. The shortlisted teams will receive a real-world brand problem or marketing crisis and will be challenged to develop a strategic solution within a limited timeframe. And then comes the X Factor. During the final challenge, teams may receive unexpected developments, new consumer insights, competitive moves, budget constraints, or changing business priorities. Your original strategy may no longer be enough. You will have to think, adapt, prioritise, and defend your decisions. Because in the real world of marketing, the brief rarely stays the same. Competition Journey Stage 1 — The Marketing Quiz Date: 10 September 2026 Test your knowledge of marketing, branding, consumer behaviour, digital marketing, advertising, analytics, campaigns, and contemporary marketing. Stage 2 — The Shortlist Date: 11 September 2026 The Top 15 teams will qualify for the Grand Finale. Stage 3 — The Brief Shortlisted teams will receive a real-world marketing problem or brand crisis. Analyse the situation. Identify the real problem. Find the insight. Build your strategy. Stage 4 — The X Factor Just when you think you have figured it out, the situation changes. A new piece of information. A competitor move. A budget cut. A consumer shift. Adapt or defend your strategy. Stage 5 — The Grand Finale Date: 13 September 2026 Present your solution before an expert jury in a live online presentation. But don't expect a simple presentation round. The jury will challenge your assumptions, question your strategy, and test how well you can think on your feet. What Are We Looking For? We aren't looking for the team with the fanciest presentation. We are looking for marketers who can: Understand the problem beyond what is immediately visible Identify meaningful consumer and market insights Think strategically Develop creative yet practical solutions Make decisions under constraints Adapt when circumstances change Defend their recommendations Communicate ideas with clarity and conviction Evaluation Criteria Teams will be evaluated on: Problem Framing Consumer & Market Insight Strategic Thinking Creativity & Innovation Feasibility & Business Thinking Adaptability to the X Factor Presentation & Storytelling Jury Q&A & Strategic Defence Who Can Participate?
