Complete Registration at: https://techfest.org/competitions/code-auditorAbout the Opportunity The rapid proliferation of AI code generation tools has fundamentally shifted the modern software development lifecycle. While producing code has become nearly instantaneous, verifying, debugging, and maintaining system integrity remain critical bottlenecks. Code Auditor, organized by Techfest, IIT Bombay, is a national-level competition that challenges participants to master the core technical skill of the AI era: evaluating, diagnosing, and fixing defective AI-generated codebases. Participants will analyze functional yet flawed code, diagnose subtle logical bugs, off-by-one errors, or hidden complexity issues, and restore system functionality within strict time constraints. Eligibility & Guidelines Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students with a valid institute ID. Inter-college teams are permitted. Team Structure: Individual participation or teams of up to 2 members. Languages Supported: Python 3.11+, C++20, Java 17, JavaScript, C, and SQL. Competition Structure Round 1: Algorithmic Logic Audit (Online Round) Focus: Programming constructs, data structures, algorithmic bugs, off-by-one errors, edge-case failures, and performance flaws (e.g., On2 complexity presented as optimal). Format & Duration: Auto-graded, timed AI-generated code review challenge (45 minutes). Advancement: Top 40–60% of participating teams advance to Round 2. Round 2: Full-Stack & API Logic Audit (Online Round) Focus: Algorithms, backend service logic, financial/data calculations, and REST API flaws. Format & Duration: Debugging sprint combining automated test suites with written diagnostic summaries (60 minutes). Deliverables: Repaired backend codebase and a concise root-cause write-up. Advancement: Top 8–12 teams advance to the live finale. Round 3: Live Incident & Silent Failures (On-Site Finale at IIT Bombay) Focus: Live system incidents, security flaws, silent logical failures (incorrect outputs without crashing), and zero-error edge cases. Format & Duration: Live stage coding sprint (30–40 minutes) followed by a 10-minute presentation and a 5-minute Q&A defense before an expert panel. Important Dates & Timeline Registration Deadline: October 15, 2026 Round 1 Qualifier (Online): October 16, 2026 Round 1 Results: October 20, 2026 Round 2 Core Round & Submission: November 09, 2026 Round 2 Results / Finalist Announcement: November 20, 2026 Round 3 (Day 1 - On-Site Setup & Live Incident Sprint): December 16, 2026 Round 3 (Day 2 - Live Pitch & Technical Q&A Finale): December 17, 2026 Key Rules & Regulations Submissions must represent original team work. Unapproved external AI tools are strictly prohibited during live rounds. Solutions attempting to bypass test cases through hardcoded outputs or improper workarounds will face disqualification upon manual review. Decisions rendered by the organizing committee and judicial panel are final and binding. Rewards & Recognition Total Prize Pool: ₹1,00,000 Certificates: Certificates of Excellence for finalists and Certificates of Participation for all registered participants.
