Overview Revenue is growing. Is the business becoming stronger? The CommerceX track at CaseUnion 4.0 challenges participants to examine the economics behind growth. The submitted pack contains three cases. The Capex Reset A quick-commerce platform must decide whether to invest in larger, more expensive stores in existing markets or redirect capital toward smaller stores in new cities. Evaluate the implications for productivity, capital efficiency, inventory and network expansion. The Customer They Cannot See A D2C brand sells across digital marketplaces, quick-commerce platforms and offline stores but cannot connect its customers’ journeys across channels. Develop a practical approach to improve customer visibility. Prioritise investments that can improve retention and reduce acquisition costs within a limited budget. Twenty-Six Paise An e-commerce enablement platform must choose between expanding its high-volume, low-margin freight business and shifting merchants toward higher-margin software products. Evaluate the business-model transition, including its impact on reported revenue and merchant adoption. Submission Expectations Follow the selected or assigned brief. Develop a clear recommendation supported by commercial reasoning, relevant calculations and an implementation approach. Rules Use the case inputs consistently. State additional assumptions and cite external research. Explain the tradeoffs behind your recommendation. Process, Format and Eligibility The final case selection process, rounds, team size, eligibility, deadlines and submission requirements will be announced in the competition instructions.
