Robo Soccer is a two-round robotics competition at Addovedi 2026, the technical fest of NIT Arunachal Pradesh. Teams design, build and remote-control their own football robots and play fast-paced matches. Use your robot's speed, strength, precision and strategy to outscore the opponent. The event is conducted physically on the Institute campus (28–30 October 2026). Guidelines: Eligibility: open to college students. Participants must register on the official Addovedi website first and carry a valid college ID card. Team size: minimum 2 and maximum 4 members per team (team leader included). Individual participation is not allowed. Inter-college team members: allowed. Inter-specialization team members: allowed. The event is open to every branch. Number of problem statements: 1. Build a remote-controlled robot that can move across the arena, control the ball, defend the goal and score goals. Rounds: 2 (Round 1: Qualifying / group stage. Round 2: Knockout, then semifinals and final). Duration of rounds: each match is 5 minutes. If the score is tied, a 2-minute golden-goal period is played, followed by a penalty shoot-out or a rematch. Format: Round 1: every robot goes through a technical inspection. Teams then play round-robin matches in groups. If more than 16 teams register, only the top 16 are shortlisted after inspection. Group winners and top-scoring teams qualify for Round 2. Round 2: single-elimination matches, then the semifinals. The two semifinal winners play the final for 1st and 2nd position. Registration: create a participant account on the Addovedi website, register your team for Robo Soccer, and you will receive a Team ID. Then register on Unstop by entering the Team ID and the team leader's Addovedi ID. Rules: Robot: must be wired or wireless remote-controlled by the team. Autonomous robots are not allowed unless announced. Maximum robot size 30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm and maximum weight 5 kg. Maximum operating voltage 12 V. Batteries must be sealed and safe. Pyrotechnic, liquid-based or hazardous parts are strictly prohibited. Each team must bring its own spare battery and basic tools. The organisers will not provide components. Only one team member may operate the robot during a match. Other members must stay outside the arena. A goal is counted only when the whole ball crosses the goal line. A robot must not hold, lift or trap the ball for more than 5 seconds. Intentionally damaging, flipping or trapping the opponent's robot is a foul. Repeated fouls lead to a warning, a goal penalty and then disqualification. A robot that is immobilised for more than 10 seconds is declared out of play and the referee may restart the match. A team that is not ready within 3 minutes of being called forfeits the match. Jammers, signal interference or any unfair electronic or mechanical method lead to immediate disqualification. The decisions of the referees and the organizing committee on scoring, penalties and disqualification are final and binding. The organizers may modify or clarify the rules for fair conduct, and any change will be announced before implementation. Coordinator: Tapan Boruah, +91 98590 40208, tapanboruah2008@gmail.com
