Overview Design Light. Build Strong. Hold the Load. Edge of Collapse is the bridge model engineering competition of Addovedi 2026 (NIT Arunachal Pradesh). Teams build a lightweight three-hinged bridge that must carry the maximum load. The winner has the highest load-to-self-weight ratio. Held on campus, 28-30 October 2026. Guidelines Eligibility: college students; valid student ID required. Team size: 3 to 4 members. One bridge per team. Inter-college / inter-specialization: allowed. Open to all branches. Materials: popsicle sticks and water-based white glue (PVA) only. No metal, plastic, cardboard, bamboo or pre-made parts. Size: 50 cm long, 45 cm clear span, deck at least 5 cm wide, three-hinged, no anchoring. Rounds: Design and Inspection, Knowledge of the Bridge, Load Test. Registration: sign up on the Addovedi website, register for Edge of Collapse to get your Team ID, then register on Unstop with the Team ID + the leader's Addovedi ID. Registration fee: Rs. 50 per member (Rs. 150 for 3, Rs. 200 for 4). Prize pool: Rs. 8,000 cash (total worth Rs. 17,000 including hoodies). Rules Build in advance and bring the finished bridge. No changes after weighing and submission. Glue must be fully cured. Prohibited materials or exceeding size or weight limits = immediate disqualification and no prizes. 5 minutes per team at the testing station. Stay behind the safety line. Ranking: efficiency ratio (max load / self-weight). Tie: lighter bridge, then lower deflection. Do not damage other teams' models or equipment. Misconduct = disqualification. Judges' and organisers' decisions are final. Rules may be modified and will be communicated.
