Idea Competition 2026, From Idea to Incubation Got a real world solution? Turn your deck into a product. Idea Competition 2026 is one of Mumbai's biggest Idea to Incubation Startup Programs, organised by E Cell CRCE, the entrepreneurship body of Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering. It is a six month, multi stage startup building competition that takes ideas through submission, validation, prototyping and pitching, with real opportunities to connect with founders, industry experts and incubation partners along the way. The program runs from 21 August 2026 to 6 February 2027, with incubation handoff continuing into March 2027 for eligible finalist teams. Have an idea worth building? This is where you take it further. Teams of 2 to 4 members can apply under one of four tracks. Healthcare and Well being covers AI diagnostics, mental health, medical devices, preventive healthcare and hospital workflows. Sustainability and ClimateTech covers clean energy, EV infrastructure, waste management, water conservation, smart agriculture and circular economy. Education Technology covers AI powered learning, skill development, EdTech, campus solutions, accessibility, and assessment and credentialing. Smart Cities and CivicTech covers smart mobility, civic technology, public safety, smart infrastructure, and waste and water management. The competition unfolds across four rounds. Round 1, Idea Submission, runs from 21 August 2026 to 25 September 2026. Every registered team submits a concise pitch deck, presenting their solution under one of the four tracks, following the official submission template that will be shared with registered participants closer to the deadline. Based on these submissions, teams are shortlisted to move forward into Startup Development. Round 2, Startup Development, runs from 5 October 2026 to 10 January 2027. Shortlisted teams enter an intensive founder mentorship phase, attending workshops and receiving guidance to develop their Business Model Canvas, validate their idea through a Proof of Concept, and prepare a poster presentation, all following official formats and templates shared at the start of this stage. Round 3, Final Team Shortlisting, runs from 21 December 2026 to 27 December 2026, where teams are shortlisted based on their Round 2 deliverables to determine who advances to the finale. Round 4, the Grand Finale, is a live offline round held on 6 February 2027 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM IST at Fr. CRCE, Bandra, Mumbai, where shortlisted teams pitch live to a panel of investors, founders and partner incubators, with winners announced across seven award categories. The total prize pool will be announced soon, spread across seven award categories in cash and goodies. Beyond the cash prizes, every team that progresses through the program gets real, tangible value. Eligible finalist teams get a direct incubation pathway into our partner incubation centres, meaning genuine support to launch the startup rather than a certificate that ends the journey. Every team in Round 2 receives founder and industry mentorship throughout the programme, along with structured idea validation and feedback. Finalists get real pitch experience presenting live at Grand Demo Day in front of investors, founders and incubator panels. All participants gain access to a cross college network of ambitious students and aspiring founders, along with direct industry exposure to founders, professionals and ecosystem partners across the six months. Participation, finalist and winner certificates are issued at each respective level, and selected teams and ideas may receive additional programme and social media visibility. Why participate.
