Description The Road to Quantum Utility is an online advanced learning and discussion event exploring the technical milestones required to move quantum computing from experimental demonstrations toward useful and reliable computation. The event examines the progress required across quantum hardware, software, systems, algorithms, error management and deployment. Participants will explore how improvements in qubit quality, connectivity, control, compilers, runtime systems, algorithms, error mitigation and quantum error correction contribute to practical quantum computing. The programme includes structured learning, expert discussion, guided activities and an evaluation component where applicable. Duration Total Duration: 90–120 minutes Rules & Guidelines 1. Eligibility Participation is individual. Participants must satisfy the eligibility requirements specified in the official event announcement. Participants must provide accurate registration information. Participants must have access to the designated online session/platform. 2. Event Format The event is conducted online. The programme combines technical learning, structured discussion, guided activities and, where applicable, an assessment. Participants will examine quantum computing from hardware, software, systems and algorithmic perspectives. 3. Learning Scope The event covers topics including: Meaning and requirements of quantum utility Qubit quality and reliability Connectivity and control Calibration and scaling Error management Quantum compilers Circuit optimization Resource estimation Runtime systems Quantum-classical workflows Error mitigation Quantum error correction Logical qubits Fault-tolerant quantum computing Requirements for useful quantum workloads 4. Participation Requirements Participants should attend or complete the required event components. Participants must follow instructions provided by the organizers. Any required questions, activities or assessments must be completed within the announced timeframe. 5. Assessment Where an assessed component is included: Questions/tasks will be based on the published learning scope. Participants must submit their responses through the designated platform. The assessment format, duration and scoring criteria will be announced before the assessment begins. 6. External Resources & AI Tools The use of external resources and AI-assisted tools will follow the official event policy. Where restrictions or disclosure requirements apply, participants must follow them. 7. Originality Any submitted assessment, activity response or technical work must be the participant's own work unless collaboration is explicitly permitted. Copying another participant's work is prohibited. Organizers may conduct appropriate integrity checks. 8. Technical Requirements Participants are responsible for having access to: Required online meeting/session platform Stable internet connection Designated learning materials Any specified simulation or software environment Submission platform, where applicable 9. Evaluation Where the event includes a scored component, evaluation may consider: Conceptual understanding Technical accuracy Analytical reasoning Understanding of hardware/software dependencies Application of quantum-computing concepts Completion of required activities The exact scoring method should be published before the assessment begins. 10. Disqualification A participant may be disqualified or have a submission rejected for: Ineligible participation Providing false registration information Copying another participant's work Unauthorized collaboration Manipulating assessment results Using prohibited resources Submitting after the deadline Violating the published event rules 11. Completion & Results Participation and completion may be recorded according to the official event requirements. Where an assessment is conducted, results will be finalized after evaluation and verification. Certificates or other recognition will be provided only according to the official event policy.
