About the Opportunity: Idea to Income: 50K is an entrepreneurship challenge by the InteractUP Startup Committee that gives selected teams the opportunity to turn their business ideas into revenue-generating ventures. Selected teams can receive ₹10,000 per month for 5 months, amounting to up to ₹50,000 in funding, to build, execute, and validate their ideas. Unlike a traditional business plan competition, this challenge focuses on execution, revenue generation, and measurable business outcomes. WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE? Pitch a practical and scalable business idea. Explain how you will start and operate the business. Show how you will use the ₹10,000 monthly funding. Generate real revenue and profits through execution. Track your business performance every month. Demonstrate how you can recover the investment and generate profit. This isn't just an idea-pitching competition. Your idea will be tested through execution and numbers. Problem - What problem or need are you addressing? Launch Plan - How will you start the business? Outline the expenses you expect to incur and the revenue you aim to generate, month by month, over the five-month period. Detailed 1st month description Capital Plan - How will you use the ₹10,000 received each month? Revenue Model - How will you generate revenue? What will your costs, revenue and expected profits look like? 5-Month Plan - How will you grow and improve the business? Investment Recovery - How will you recover the investment while generating profit? Your video should demonstrate a clear, practical, and financially viable plan. We are more interested in the numbers and execution strategy than just the business idea. Explain how you will acquire customers, what you will pitch to them, your expected ticket size, and who your target customers are. If you are proposing a product, explain the per-unit cost, sourcing or manufacturing process, pricing, and expected profit margin. ROUND 2 - INTERVIEW Shortlisted participants will move to the interview round. The interview will evaluate: Practicality of the business idea Financial viability Execution strategy Revenue potential Scalability Understanding of the target market Ability to use limited capital effectively Round 2 dates will be announced soon. Based on the interview evaluation: Final teams will be selected. THE ₹50,000 OPPORTUNITY ₹10,000 × 5 MONTHS = ₹50,000 Selected teams can receive: ₹10,000 every month For 5 consecutive months Up to ₹50,000 total funding Funding released progressively based on the agreed plan and evaluation framework MONTHLY PERFORMANCE TRACKING Every month, the business will be evaluated on: Capital Used → Revenue → Costs → Profit → Growth You will be expected to demonstrate: How the capital was utilised Revenue generated Customer/business growth, Progress against the original plan The opportunity will operate on a profit-sharing basis. Profit sharing will continue as per the terms agreed with the selected teams until the applicable recovery/profit objective is achieved. Detailed terms will be communicated to shortlisted/final teams. WHAT CAN YOU BUILD? You are not restricted to a particular industry.
